Fitting My Raxar Looped Bullbar | Install & Review

When you travel solo through remote Australia, protection is everything. After a year on the road dodging kangaroos, navigating unsealed roads, and constantly testing the limits of my rig, I knew it was time to upgrade my front end. A bullbar was non-negotiable — not just for safety, but also for mounting gear and looking bloody good too.

Why I Chose Raxar:

One of the big reasons I went with the BT-50 for my touring setup is because I loved how unique the front end looked compared to every other ute on the market. So naturally, choosing the right bullbar to complement that style was key.

I first came across Raxar when someone following my journey mentioned the brand on one of my YouTube videos. I hadn’t heard of them before, so I jumped online and did some research. After a few weeks of weighing up different options, it was clear that this was the one I wanted to go with.

What really stood out was how Raxar had nailed both the practical and stylistic elements. The design follows the unique shape of the BT-50 perfectly — it doesn’t just bolt on, it blends in. And for me, keeping that clean, aggressive look was important.

But it’s not just about looks. You can tell they’ve thought about everything — built-in recovery points, spots to mount lighting and UHF aerials, and all the tough functionality you’d expect from a serious touring rig upgrade.

The Install Process:

At the time of the install, I was already on the road — travelling through North Queensland and putting my new rig to the test.

I booked in with Opposite Lock in Rockhampton to have the bullbar fitted, and they made the whole process incredibly seamless.

The team was super welcoming — they even let me sneak behind the scenes to check out the install in action and watch the transformation take place.

Because I chose the Raxar Looped Bullbar, it meant doing a complete bumper replacement.

That requires cutting into the front end of the BT-50 to ensure the bar fits cleanly and contours to the unique shape of the vehicle. I’ll be honest — seeing them cut into the front of my brand-new setup was a little nerve-wracking! Once you start cutting, there’s no turning back.

But I had full trust in the team doing the job, and after just a few hours, the install was complete — and I finally got to see the big reveal. It looked tough, clean, and instantly made the whole rig feel next-level.

Functionality & First Impressions:

The moment my BT-50 rolled out of the garage, I was honestly blown away.

The new front end completely transformed the look of the rig — it looked tougher, more capable, and finally like the touring setup I had envisioned from the start.

But the Raxar Looped Bullbar isn’t just about looks — it’s packed with features that make it one of the most functional and thoughtfully designed bullbars on the market. Everything from recovery points to winch compatibility has been carefully considered, making it ideal for long-term travel and off-road reliability.

Here’s a full breakdown of what you get with the Raxar bar:

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely! At the time of writing this blog, I’ve been running the Raxar Looped Bullbar for almost 12 months — and it’s held up incredibly well through all kinds of conditions.

I’ve already installed my UHF and (unintentionally) tested out the underbody protection — and let me tell you, it’s doing its job! The build quality has proven itself time and time again on rocky tracks, beach recoveries, and long days on the road.

Next on the list? I’ll be taking full advantage of the winch compatibility and adding some driving lights to the front end — so watch this space!
